5 New Songs You Need to Hear

1. Papa Roach - “Kill The Noise”

Papa Roach has released an aggressive new, “shut the fuck up” kinda track called “Kill The Noise.” They’ve been posting some pretty funny TikToks of them responding to haters and shit, people who question if they’re still a band, even though they still play packed festivals. I’m guessing this song is related to all of that, basically shutting all the negativity down.

2. We Came As Romans, Caleb Shomo - “Black Hole”

We Came As Romans has released "Black Hole", featuring Beartooth's Caleb Shomo. It’s a heavy-hitting track about anxiety and Caleb really sounds at home with this ensemble. Probably because the two bands have toured together so much and have been friends for 10+ years.

3. State Champs - “Outta My Head”

State Champs released another new song, just after the release of last week’s “Just Sound,” they’re back with “Outta My Head.” They said with this single, they were trying to make a song that would fit on the American Pie movies soundtrack, or other rom coms like that.

4. Billy Talent, Rivers Cuomo - “End of Me”

Billy Talent is hopping on the collab train, bringing on Rivers Cuomo from Weezer for the song “End of Me.” The band said “This is a full circle moment for us. We’ve admired and have been fans of Weezer since the Blue Album until now. Before we had a title, this song was originally called Hendrix+Weezer so it only felt right to ask Rivers to sing on it. The song encompasses the essence of ’90s alt.rock which was a hugely impactful and influential time for our band. We’re proud of the song and very happy to have Rivers be a part of it.

5. The Used - “River Stay”

The Used released their last record Heartwork in 2020 and today they’ve dropped a deluxe version of the album featuring 11 new fucking tracks. That’s like a whole second album’s worth of new music, haha. The song “River Stay” is one of the standout songs, it has old “In Love and Death” vibes.

There’s a ton of other great releases I couldn’t fit in here like stuff from Four Year Strong & Angels & Airwaves, so if you want to hear all of this week's best new music, you can find it all on my "New Scene Sunday" playlist
