The complete MGK vs. Slipknot drama (as of now)

Okay, this has turned into an ongoing saga now, so here’s what has gone down SO FAR.

MGK and Slipknot both played at Riot Fest over the weekend, during the same time slot as well, which may have been intentional because there’s not gonna be a lot of fan crossover with those two performances.

During his set, MGK said “Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old wearing a fucking weird mask on a fucking stage. Fucking shit. So anyway, what’s everyone’s favorite candy? Reese’s Pieces?

Following the performance of the track “Jawbreaker,” Kells clapped back once more with “Turn the lights up, let me see who chose to be here instead of with all the old weird dudes with masks.

MGK’s remarks were an obivous retaliation to Corey Taylor of Slipknot who recently appeared on Cutter’s Rockcast saying “I hate the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock — and I think he knows who he is. But that’s another story.” Other remarks include Taylor alluding to MGK being a blatant blink-182 rip off.

Shortly after the Riot Fest video went viral, MGK tweeted about how Taylor was supposed to sing a verse on his album Tickets To My Downfall, but Kelly hated what Taylor sent and decided not to use it and now Taylor is being bitter.

But Taylor said that wasn’t how it happened at all and he had receipts. The first image shows an email from Travis Barker. (who produced Tickets To My Downfall) giving Taylor some notes/feedback on his verse. The second shows Taylor saying he didn’t think he was the right guy for the track and deciding not to continue to be apart of it.

So is this the end or will there be more beef? One thing is for certain, Eminem fans and Slipknot fans finally have a reason to hang out!
